To elevate the manufacturing standards for spring steel wire, Hengming Metal organised a specialised technical training session focusing on the fundamentals of wire products and their end-to-end production processes. The initiative aimed to comprehensively enhance the professional expertise and practical skills of both the technical team and frontline staff. Led by senior engineer Professor Wang Baoyu and Technical Director Jiang Nan, the event brought together key personnel from production, R&D, quality control, and the workshop floor, marking the official launch of the company’s dedicated internal learning brand, “Hengming TechSource.”
As a platform for ongoing, company-wide talent development, “Hengming TechSource” is committed to establishing a long-term empowerment mechanism for both management and frontline employees. By offering systematic professional training and tiered skill-enhancement courses, the platform drives continuous technical innovation and high-quality upgrades for spring steel wire products. During the training, Professor Wang Baoyu provided a systematic breakdown of the wire product portfolio, strictly adhering to the national standard GB/T 341-2008, “Classification and Terminology of Steel Wire.”
The curriculum covered comprehensive core knowledge, including structural details for round and shaped cross-sections, a full size range from 0.10mm to 8.0mm, diverse chemical compositions (spanning low-, medium-, and high-carbon steels as well as alloy steels), various heat treatment processes, and graded tensile strength specifications. Additionally, the training categorised over 30 product types tailored to different application scenarios, laying a solid theoretical foundation for standardised production.
The instructors conducted in-depth professional analyses of the four core production stages for high-performance spring steel wire: surface treatment, drawing, heat treatment, and coating. The sessions detailed the pros, cons, and applicability of physical versus chemical surface treatment methods, explained the process characteristics of various drawing techniques, and explored diverse heat treatment strategies. They also examined the performance differences and application scenarios for various coating materials—such as zinc, tin, copper, aluminium, epoxy resin, phosphating, and boriding. Through intuitive PowerPoint presentations, complex production processes were simplified, effectively resolving technical bottlenecks on the shop floor and enhancing the team’s operational proficiency. Looking ahead, Hengming Metal will continue to refine its standardised technical training system and deepen the optimisation of its end-to-end production processes, steadily enhancing the precision, stability, and customisation capabilities of its spring steel wire products. By empowering manufacturing through technical expertise and talent development, the company will further strengthen its global competitiveness in the high-end metal wire manufacturing sector.
